This is my last message on the Brownie Troop page.....:( Miss Cindy is moving on to Juniors with Rhianna and Miss Nancy will be taking over the Brownie Troop. Thank you for a great year!

Campers...

In May we had the opportunity to go camping at Paradise Farms in Downingtown. We were with some other Coatesville troops.

Megan, Alexis & Rhianna were Troop 490's Brave Campers! It was Megan's first time camping. Alexis and Rhianna were seasoned campers. We participated in Archery, Fishing, Team Building Activities, Rain Gutter Regatta, Boat Building, Canoeing....but we decided to play in the creek! All in all....we had a wonderful time.

Bridging Ceremony/End of Year Party

Wow, this year has flown by. We have 7 girls bridging to Juniors!! Congrats girls! Reminder....June 7th all Brownies need to be in uniform...All girls will be receiving awards!!! See you there!

Cookie Update

Thank you for all of your time and efforts with our cookie sale. We still have approx. 200 boxes of cookies that the girls need to sell. Unfortunately, until those cookies are sold, we do not have any profit. Please contact Miss Cindy to help!

COOKIE NEWS…
I would like to thank our girls and their families for the terrific job you are doing with our cookie sale! We will be selling cookies through the end of February….Keep Selling girls!! Also, be sure to sign-up for a cookie booth if you haven’t already done so. If we need to schedule more Cookie Booths, we can!
Also…..If any of your customers would like to purchase Cookies to support the Coatesville Fire Victims….please let us know!!! The Greater Coatesville Service Unit is organizing a fund drive through cookies.
We are more than half way to meet our goal!!!

Feb. 3rd meeting change

It seems as though Mother Nature is not working in our favor right now. Our meeting for tonight has been cancelled and we WILL MEET WEDNESDAY, FEB. 4, 2009. Please bring cookie payments and if you need more cookies, please let me know and I will bring them with me!!!

Girl Scout Help Needed...

I am sure you are aware of the fire on Fleetwood St. that destroyed 15 homes and left many homeless...In true Girl Scout spirit, I would like our girls to take a little time with their families and sort through any unwanted items you have in your home. Clothing, Food, blankets, diapers, toiletries, personal care items, towels...etc. I would like our troop to do our part to help the members of our community in this difficult. If you would collect these items and have them to Miss Cindy over this weekend that would be greatly appreciated. Monday Miss Cindy will delover these items to a designated donation location.

December 9th...Meeting we will be meeting at St. Martha's Manor to make crafts with the residents, I have only had a few responses.

Holiday Service Project

December 2nd, we will be putting together our Fruit Baskets to be donated to our area's Elderly!

What’s Going on…
With the Holidays approaching, The girls will be participating in a Community Service Project. We will be putting together Fruit Baskets to be delivered to Coatesville Area Elderly and Shut-ins through Meals on Wheels!
Community Service is a very important aspect of Girl Scouting. It helps the girls to develop into good citizens in their community.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
General
Parents Please remind your daughter of the Girl Scout Code of Conduct they signed in the beginning of the year. It is important that the girls be on their best behavior when we are together. With such a large group size, we can not have any excess mischief. It is unfair to the girls, and unsafe for the girls. As a reminder, if your daughter refuses to follow the Code of Conduct, she will be asked to leave the meeting/event.
Troop Needs
**ASSISTANT LEADER** We need an Assistant Leader….someone to dedicate themselves to that position! You would need to be able to attend 90%-100% of Troop meetings and activities.
Thanks to all of those who have dedicated your time to our troop so far this year.

Regular Meeting. We will be talking about our Community Service Project for the Holidays. Work on Healty Habits Try-it. Reminder....if you owe money from the fall fundraiser, it needs to be turned in ASAP!!!

Investiture/Rededication Tonight!
Nuts and Candy orders are in. I will have them with me tonight!

November 4th

Our November 4th meeting is cancelled. The school will not allow us to use the cafeteria when the school has been closed for the day to students. See you next week Novembner 11th!

Fall

We had a Great Fall Celebration Tuesday Night! I hope all the girls had a blast. See you at our meeting on November 4th.

**Reminder**
November 11th, Investiture/Rededication....Girls need to be in uniform. Families are invited to join us at 7pm. For those of you new to Girl Scouting, Investiture/Rededication is when the new girls officially become Girl Scouts, and the returning girls are recognized for returning! The girls have been working very hard since the beginning of the year, and those that have been at the last few meetings have also earned some Try-its!
